What is Fell Running?

Off-road running is a difficult, yet highly gratifying activity. Do you dare?

El term Fell Running is also known as ‘hill running’. In other words, training in the middle of nature, away from the asphalt, while jumping rocks or crossing rivers. It’s a demanding challenge, but also an adrenaline-charged experience.

Unlike Trail Running (running along marked mountain paths), Fell Running consists of jogging without a marked route, over steep and muddy terrain, through swampland, heather and rocky areas, sometimes even with the help of maps and compasses.

5 qualities of Fell Running

  1. Challenging. It’s challenging and can sometimes even be dangerous. It requires athletic ability and mountaineering skills. Each runner is responsible for their own safety.
  2. Unique landscapes. It allows you to enjoy some of the wildest and most remote places in the world. You can disconnect and find your moment of peace.
  3. Levels. If you compete, the shortest races have a maximum of 10 km, the medium ones between 10-20 km and the longest ones over 20 km. If you are a beginner, sign up for an easy one and go with someone.
  4. Fair play. In competition, runners must help each other in difficult moments.
  5. Take care of the surroundings. Participants must respect nature and not damage or manipulate the environment in any way.

Before setting off into the world of Fell Running, be well informed and plan your route, check the weather and equip yourself properly.
