Foolproof techniques for relaxing and (really) enjoying the holidays
A walk in nature or switching off your mobile phone can help recharge your batteries (both physical and emotional).
Summer is always a good time for you to have fun and relax.
Learning how to relax and really enjoy yourself can help you feel more energised, recharging both your physical and emotional batteries.
7 ways to relax on holiday
- Spend time outside. Nature is soothing and provides a sense of inner peace. Sunlight provides us with vitamin D, excellent for the bones and for boosting your mood.
- Unplug from technology. Use the summer to be in holiday mode. Hang up the ‘closed for holidays’ sign on your social media, and switch off your mobile several times a day.
- Slow your roll. Let yourself take it slow. Start living mindfully, doing one task at a time, enjoying the beauty around you and living in the moment.
- Fulfilling activities. Read that book you’ve been meaning to read, discover a new city in a day or go to the beach and just relax. Now’s the time to do what gives you ‘good vibes’.
- Get out of your comfort zone. Try a new drink or go to a new restaurant. Every time you do something new or take a risk, you get a rush of happiness.
- Let yourself have “me time”. Wake up 10 minutes earlier to sit on the terrace with your coffee and enjoy the silence. All you need to do is take a few minutes a day for yourself 😉
- Breathe. You can still get stressed out, even with the warm weather and longer days. So, when you feel stress coming on, close your eyes and take a deep breath.
