Practise snow sports without any risk

This winter, enjoy skiing or snowboarding without any unnecessary risks

One of the greatest attractions during the winter for ski and snowboard lovers is when it starts to snow on the mountains. These outdoor activities give us vitality, tone the body and improve our mood.

However, descending the white slopes at high speed has its risks, therefore we recommend following this advice in order to enjoy skiing or snowboarding in a healthy and safe way.

  1. Prior preparation: it is best to carry out aerobic exercises during the weeks leading up to the activity. This will help us to better approach the effort needed in the snow and to have a lower risk of injury.
  1. Check the weather: Before putting on your skis or snowboard, it is advisable to read the slope recommendations and to take the weather conditions and snow status into account.
  1. Equipment: review the conditions of your skis (waxed and ground) or snowboard, adjust the settings to your weight, style and level and get the right helmet. Remember to include basics such as boots, poles, protective glasses, anorak and sun protection, and useful items such as thermal clothing or lip balm.
  1. Go with a friend: it is always preferable not to ski alone in case you fall or have any problems that stop you from coming down the slope by yourself.
  1. Don’t ski outside the recommended slopes: avalanches, cliffs or rocks are a genuine risk outside the slope or on slopes that are closed.
  1. Respect others: when joining a slope, the skier or snowboarder who is already on it has priority. Once on the slope, the person in front has preference. Leave enough space when passing someone out for them to turn.
  1. Don’t run unnecessary risk: it’s better to err on the side of caution and only to ski on the slopes where we feel safe, with no fear so that we can enjoy it.
  1. Stretch afterward: it is advisable to stretch your arms and legs in order to relax your muscles after a day of skiing or snowboarding.

By taking these basic safety measures into account, your next escape to the snow can be a healthy, fun and exciting experience.
