Facial Yoga, Exercises for Firmer Skin

Facial Yoga, Exercises for Firmer Skin

This 15 minute technique will help your face recover elasticity, firmness and vitality.

Facial yoga is a technique that combines exercises and movements which use all the muscles of the face, with the aim of preventing and smoothing wrinkles and expression lines, and promoting skin health.

Furthermore, this method helps to prevent sagging, oxygenate skin and tone facial muscles, as well as activate circulation and recover elasticity.

Toning routine for the face
Exercises are done in ascending order from the neck, chin, cheeks, lips, to the eyelids and forehead.

1. Neck: stick out your tongue and place the tip behind your lower teeth, forming an arc. Then push out, tensing and opening the mouth. Repeat three times.

2. Chin: try saying “wood” properly, without frowning, keeping your eyes and mouth open wide. Repeat 5 times. This movement helps your face relax and eliminate rigidity.

3. Jawline: take a breath and hold it in your mouth. Move it to the right by stretching the muscles and count to 5. Bring it to the middle of the mouth, through the upper and lower lip. Hold it 5″, move it to the left and wait a little longer. Repeat 3 times.

4. Lips: breathe in through your nose, pout your lips and press the palm of your hand against them for 2 seconds. Remove your hand and breathe out intensely. Repeat 5 times. This exercise helps prevent wrinkles at the corner of the lips.

5. Cheeks: wrinkle your nose and do 3 sets of 10. This strengthens the nasolabial muscles, nose and cheeks.

6. Eyelids: make an “O” with your mouth, opening it from above. Look up, without wrinkling your forehead. Then try to close the lower lid; you’ll feel your face stretching. Do 3 sets of 5.

7. Forehead: place your index fingers at the of the start of your eyebrows and make inward movements while you try to separate your two eyebrows. Repeat the exercise with your fingers placed in the middle and at the outer ends of the eyebrows.

Experts recommend doing 15 minutes of facial yoga a day (several times a week) for results in two to three months.

The routine can be done in the morning (to prepare the skin before starting the day) or at night (after brushing our teeth, removing make-up, etc.) to prepare for a restorative rest.

Remember to properly clean and moisturise the skin and protect yourself from the sun's rays, as they can lead to premature aging.
